The New Haven Food Truck Festival was a success last year and the city is expanding the event this summer with the addition of the inaugural Dragon Boat Regatta.
Mayor Toni Harp, Small Business Service Center Director Jackie James and John Pescatore made the announcement on Monday.
More than 20,000 people attended the food truck festival last year and the event raised $50,000. This year’s event will include more than 30 food trucks and it be held at the Long Wharf Waterfront on Saturday, June 4 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Dragon Boat Regatta will be on Saturday, June 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Long Wharf Pier and teams will compete in a series of races in 41-foot Dragon Boats.
The entrance fee will be $5, but admission is free for children 12 and under. The event also includes live performances, children’s activities, artists and craft vendors.
