New London police are investigating an untimely death reported Saturday morning at a New London apartment on Blinman Street and are calling it a "suspicious event."
A male resident made a 911 call at 8:44 a.m. to report that his girlfriend was unconscious and not breathing, police said.
There were no overt signs of trauma, police said. The woman was unresponsive when medical personnel arrived.
Police and firefighters responded. An ambulance transported the woman to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, where she was pronounced dead.
Police aren't releasing the name of the woman until her family is notified.
Detectives and patrol officers are investigating the circumstances that led to the woman's death.
