Shortly after the attack Providence police arrested Narin Kheng, 27, of Cranston, R.I. and Antonio DiSano, 19, also of Cranston. The suspects had been pointed out to police by a witness. Both men had blood on their clothes, and Kheng had a bloody knife in his pocket, police said.
Kheng confessed to stabbing Olearnick to death, police said. He was charged with murder. DiSano admitted that he punched and kicked Olearnick while he was on the ground. He was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon.
Olearnick was a 2004 graduate of Norwich Free Academy.
