No Casinos or Prison for Ex-Craps Dealer

A former Foxwoods craps dealer is forever banned from the casino after taking part in a cheating scam that led to the arrests of a dozen former casino employees. But, he’s avoiding jail time.

Chandler Alfred Jr., 31, of Baltic, was the first former casino worker charged in the scam to tumble the scheme

After Alfred pleaded guilty to larceny on Wednesday, a New London Superior Court judge ordered him to never return to the casino.

Richard "Mr. Casino" Taylor led the scheme in which dealers were paid off to accept late bets at crap tables, prosecutors said. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Alfred told authorities he received about $4,500 in payments from Taylor and others in the scam.

Taylor also has pending charges accusing him of cheating at the Mohegan Sun casino.
