Neighbor Brenda Jones said the family was out when the flames started.

“They just said that they had left for an hour to go check on another property that they own, I guess, and she wanted Pop-Tarts, so they went out to get Pop-Tarts and an hour later they said they came back home and it was burning. It was gone. She was like really upset because she lost everything," Jones said.

“I feel bad for them. They have nothing. She didn’t even have a coat. I feel really bad because they were renovating the place. They’ve been there for about three years and they were redoing the place," she added.

The road is closed while crews continue to monitor for hot spots.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
