Norwich Man Accused of Stabbing Woman, Sex Assault

Norwich police responded to a report of a stabbing on Tuesday night and arrested a man on a sexual assault charge, as well as additional offenses.

Police responded to Boswell Avenue at 8:46 p.m. on Tuesday and found a 43-year-old woman had been stabbed, police said.

She was transported to William W. Backus Hospital to be treated. Police said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Raymond Holloway, 42, of Norwich was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment and first-degree unlawful restraint.

He was held on a $500,000 bond and is due to be arraigned on Wednesday.   

It was not immediately clear if he has an attorney.
