State Police Responded to Hundreds of Traffic Calls

The sun is out now, but it was a slow commute early on Friday.

Within eight hours of the snow starting to fall, State Police received more than 300 calls for service. But, by the end of the storm, state police had received 866 calls for service, including 76 crashes. There were injuries in one crash. 

Between 3 and 7 inches fell across the state. As of 10:30 a.m., weather-watchers reported the highest amounts in Storrs and Ashford.  

Problems were reported from Hartford to Norwalk, even though many people left extra travel time to get to work.

One problem area is Interstate 95 Northbound in New Haven. Two tractor-trailers collided and two lanes were closed between exits 48 and 50.

Crashes were also been reported in Norwalk, on Interstate 95 Northbound, in Bridgeport on I-95 Southbound, on Interstate 91 Northbound in Hartford, in Stratford, on Interstate 95 Southbound and in Norwalk, on I-85 Northbound. You can check traffic incidents here.
