A 14-year-old was shot in Waterbury Tuesday and he has been taken to the hospital.
Police said it happened at 85 Congress Avenue at around 1:36 p.m.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his left hand and left thigh area and was transported to St. Mary's Hospital where he is considered to be in stable condition, police said.
Police explained in a press release on Wednesday that the incident appears to be self-inflicted.
