A 25-year-old Ansonia man found with several gunshot wounds in a parking lot in Ansonia on Wednesday night is dead and police are investigating whether this shooting is connected to another shooting last week.
Isaia Hernandez, 25, was found in the parking lot of Xpress Mart, at the corner of Wakelee Avenue and Church Street, just after 6 p.m., police said.
After speaking with witnesses and viewing video surveillance, police said it appears that Hernandez and two people were in a vehicle together and the driver pulled into the parking lot of Xpress Mart. Hernandez got out of the car and collapsed, police said.
Two males who were in the car got out and ran east on Church Street. Police have not identified them.

When police arrived, Hernandez was lying on the ground near gas pumps, bleeding heavily from several gunshot wounds. He man was taken to Griffin Hospital, where he died an hour later.
An employee of Zanis Pizza, across the street from the crime scene, told NBC Connecticut that he heard a couple of shots but did not witness anything.
Part of the police investigation on Wednesday night focused on a white vehicle that surrounded by police crime tape.

Police are trying to determine whether the shooting is related to one on March 9 at the corner of Hill Avenue and Root Street that killed Daryl Rhys Venson, 25, of Ansonia.
