You might soon be able to own a piece of the Empire State Building and a Greenwich man’s company is behind it.
Malkin Properties, which has offices in Stamford, has real estate holdings that include the iconic Empire State Building.
This week, the company filed paperwork with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. The company, cofounded by Greenwich resident Peter Malkin, has not gone so far as to file for an IPO, so the filing submitted on Nov. 29 is short.
It merely states that Empire State Building Associates, LLC could become part of a newly formed Real Estate Investment Trust within the next three months, according to the filing.
REITs sell like stocks on major exchanges.
