Own Items for the Townhouse Penthouse Built

If the walls of the New York townhouse Bob Guccione lived in could talk, they would have some pretty interesting stories, especially about the Penthouse founder’s legendary parties.

The next best thing to having been there, is seeing the items that lined the walls of the king of skin mags’ former home, or owning those items for yourself.

Come Saturday, the heavy-duty architectural pieces Guccione left behind could be yours.

Braswell Galleries in Norwalk is auctioning off the pieces on Saturday.

The items came to Norwalk through the people who bought Guccione’s former home for a whopping $49 million. Now, they are doing some major renovations that don’t call for ornate marble columns and busts, wood deities or a vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunk.

Braswell Galleries originally wanted to handle and sell the items and submitted a bid, but somewhere along the way a decision was made to donate the contents to charity, the Norwalk Hour reports. Braswell, which has more than 30 years of experience, got the job.

The gallery owners’ son oversaw the removal of the items, a process that took two to three weeks, Kathy Braswell, owner of the gallery, said.

He brought back many, many items. The best way to describe them is over the top, but what else would you expect from the man who founded Penthouse?

The gallery will auction off items on Monday, Aug. 17 starting at 6 p.m. and the money collected will go to Green Demolitions, a nonprofit addiction recovery organization.
