Lebanon Middle School went from heartbreak to absolute bliss on Wednesday when the Patriots made good on a promise after not showing up last week over a misunderstanding.

Head Coach Bill Belichick and members of the New England Patriots surprised the students when they showed up in the school gym.

The visit was in response to a misunderstanding over a fitness contest called "Fuel Up to Play 60," a contest sponsored by the NFL and the New England Dairy Council.

Lebanon Middle School won the contest for having high participation in the physical fitness program.  The students were misled into believing that a Patriots player would show up last week.  But instead, they got an intern.

The New England Dairy Council is taking responsibility for the misunderstanding, but Patriots owner Robert Kraft felt he had to do something, so they arranged the surprise visit Wednesday.

Belichick and starting center Dan Koppen spoke to students and everybody who attended the assembly got a Patriots hat.

Not even teachers knew about the assembly.
