Pedestrian Struck on Columbus Boulevard in Hartford

A pedestrian was hit by a car on Columbus Boulevard in Hartford Wednesday afternoon and has been taken to Hartford Hospital to be treated for head injuries.

Police said the pedestrian, a 40-year-old man, crossed Columbus Boulevard in front of stopped traffic and was hit at 1:45 p.m. by the driver of an SUV. Police said it appeared the driver had a green light.

The pedestrian was transported to Hartford Hospital to be treated for head injuries.

The road was closed for hours but has since reopened.
