Pedestrian Struck in Hit and Run

A pedestrian is struck in West Hartford and the driver flees into Farmington then goes over guardrail.

West Hartford and Farmington police are investigating a crash that shut down a portion of Route 4 in Farmington at Old Mountain Road and the West Hartford town line on Thursday night.

A pedestrian was struck by a car on Farmington Avenue in West Hartford near the MDC Reservoir, police said.

The car fled the scene and proceeded to drive into Farmington, where it struck another car before going over a guardrail, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to Saint Francis Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car that evaded was transported to UConn Health Center, accompanied by an officer. The driver’s condition is unknown.

Route 4 is open as of Thursday morning. Police are still investigating.
