A 62-year-old Easton man has died after falling into the Norwalk River on Sunday night, according to police.
Emergency crews responded to 1 Selleck Street just before 9:30 p.m. and started searching for the man, who appeared to have slipped into the water while steeping off a boat and onto the dock, according to witnesses.
The Stamford Fire Department dive team found the man, 62-year-old Jozef Gorski, of Easton, and EMS began treating him, according to a news release from police.
Police said Gorski was pronounced dead at Norwalk Hospital. Detectives are investigating, and they are waiting on findings from the office of the chief medical examiner.
