Lifestar responded after a person was hit by a vehicle on Gravel Street in Meriden Wednesday.
Meriden police confirmed the crash but could not immediately give details on the condition of the victim.
Witnesses told NBC Connecticut it was a woman who was hit and she appeared badly hurt. One witness described hearing the crash.
“I was walking my dog and suddenly I just heard a big boom. It sounded like when someone busts the front window of a car...and I heard some glass," Katiria Bolorin said.
Gravel Street is closed near Sunbright Drive south for the investigation.
This is a developing story. NBC Connecticut has a crew on scene and will provide updates as they come into the newsroom.
