Police Ask for Help Finding Kidnapping Suspect

West Haven police are looking for a man accused of striking two females and abducting one of them early Thursday morning.

Police say that Jerry Tinsdall, 33, of Bridgeport forced his way into a West Haven apartment around 12:30 a.m. with a baseball bat and got into an argument with two female acquaintances.

One of the women was holding a small child and Tinsdall attacked her with a baseball bat, police said. The child was not hurt.

The other female tried to intervene and he also struck her with the bat, police said. Then he dragged her into a vehicle and later let her go in Bridgeport, according to a news release.

Police consider Tinsdall armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on Tinsdall's whereabouts is asked to call the WHPD at 203-937-3900.

Tinsdall was last seen operating a white 1994 Olds 88 Royale with CT registration 260-YCD.
