Police ID Man Killed in Crash in Essex

Connecticut State Police have identified the man who was killed in a crash in Essex on Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to Gates Road in Essex around 3:45 p.m. after getting a report of a one-car crash.

When officers arrived, they found a vehicle off the road on a residential lot, where it had hit a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified by police as 58-year-old William Demars, of Essex, was pronounced dead at the Shoreline Clinic.
