Police Identify Body Found in Trailer, Hunt Suspect

Branford Police have released the name of the man found dead in a trailer on Friday morning, and are searching for a "person of interest" in the apparent homicide investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Dale Lynn Anderson, 47, whose last known address is 638 Chestnut Avenue, Redlands, California.  The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy Saturday and said Anderson's cause of death is cranial-cerebral trauma.

Police want to speak with a person of interest known as “Mike". He is approximately 28-32 years old, with a thin build with short brown hair. He was wearing a ¾-length brown leather jacket, blue jeans carrying a brown backpack.

He might have left Branford by hitchhiking on Interstate 95, near exit 56, sometime on Wednesday, April 15, police said. He might have lived in Kentucky or California, police said.

Anderson's body was discovered by the driver of a tractor-trailer in Branford Friday morning. The driver called police at 10:44 a.m. after finding the body in the back of the trailer owned by Allied Van Lines that was located at the T.A. Travel Center at 3 East Industrial Road, police said. The trailer is privately owned and had been there since Wednesday.

The public is asked to contact the Branford Police Department at (203) 481-4241 or the Branford Police Crime Tip Line at (203) 315-3909 with any information in this case.
