Police Identify Man Shot to Death Outside Waterbury Cafe

Police have identified the man shot to death outside a Waterbury cafe early Sunday morning during an altercation, police said.

Anthony Crespo, 22, was killed in the fatal overnight shooting in the parking lot of Barley Corn Café at 92 Store Ave. at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, police said. He was shot in the stomach during a confronation there, police said.

An ambulance initially transported the man to St. Mary's Hospital, but he died there, police said.

Police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

No suspect has been identified at this time.

It's unclear whether there were any customers in the cafe at the time of the shooting.
