A woman's body was found Wednesday afternoon on the side of Springside Avenue near a wooded area in New Haven and police have now identified her.
Authorities are investigating the death as suspicious.
"It's obviously really disconcerting when we find something like this in the city. It's really early for us to say what happens, once the medical examiner reviews the body and does the investigation we'll have a lot more information to understand what occurred and we'll respond accordingly," Mayor Justin Elicker told NBC Connecticut.
On Friday, police said they have identified the woman as 43-year-old Veronica Quinones, of New Haven.
