Police ID Person Killed in Hartford Hit-and-Run

Police have identified the person who died in a hit-and-run in Hartford Thursday night.

Police said Luis Daniel Rodriguez, 44, was struck in the area of 250 Wethersfield Ave.

When police arrived at the scene, they said they saw Rodriguez on the road alongside a bicycle. He suffered a traumatic body injury, according to police.

Witnesses were able to provide a description of two cars involved, police said. Within the hour, officers said they located one of the suspect cars parked in the upper Magnolia Street area, unoccupied. The car had significant damage consistent with the accident.

Officers said preliminary investigation shows two cars, a white Audi and dark-colored SUV, traveling northbound together on Wethersfield Avenue for several blocks, weaving in and out of traffic at a high speed.

Wethersfield Avenue was closed between Benton Street and Annawan Street for police to investigate.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call police at 860-722-8477.
