Police are investigating a daytime stabbing in Hartford that hospitalized a 20-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds on Saturday.
Officers responded to the area of York and Zion streets around 3 p.m after reports of a serious assault. They found a victim who had walked down Zion Street with several stab wounds.
Hartford Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley says the victim, a 20 year old male from Hartford, was stabbed multiple times in the chest and back. He is currently in stable and guarded condition at Hartford Hospital.
A woman who lived in the neighborhood said that stabbings are not uncommon in the area.
"It's sad. Kind of normal," Megan Pall said. "The day before Father's Day, someone got stabbed in front of my house too, and it happens a lot. It's sad."
The area is blanketed with cameras and police believe there are multiple suspects.
Police are reviewing the surveillance footage and no arrests have been made at this time.
