Police Investigate Report of Shooting in New Haven

Police are investigating the report of a shooting in New Haven over the weekend.

According to police, the 30-year-old victim showed up at the St. Raphael's campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital around 12:40 a.m. Sunday.

He told officers a man had approached him while he was walking from his girlfriend's house in Hamden to a friend's home on George Street in New Haven and said, "Don't move," then shot him in the leg, according to police.

Police, however, said they did not receive any reports of shootings in that area and their ShotSpotter technology did not activate.

The victim told police he walked to the hospital. He described his attacker as a heavy-set man standing just under 6 feet tall.
