New Haven Police are investigating a shooting in the Newhallville neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.
Officers said it happened on Newhall Street near Bassett Street shortly before 1:30 p.m.
The 34-year-old man was transported by private vehicle to Yale-New Haven Hospital, authorities added.
The man suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder, according to police. He remains in the hospital in stable condition.
