Police Investigating Bank Robbery in New Haven

Police are investigating a robbery at the Santander Bank branch on Grand Avenue in the Fair Haven neighborhood of New Haven.

The bank robbery was reported at 9:35 a.m.

Officers said a man or woman was seen on cameras entering the back of the bank at the Ferry Street entrance.

The robbery suspect was dressed as a woman, but had an extremely deep voice, authorities added.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank wearing a white long sleeve shirt under a floral printed sleeveless dress and had a dark-colored wig with auburn highlights, peach-colored sunglasses and a large purse.

The suspect is described as having a slim build and is of average height.

There was no weapon mentioned during the robbery and an undisclosed amount of money was taken, police added.
