Reverend Henry Brown, who lives in the neighborhood came out to talk to police.
“You know it’s Good Friday, people should be worshiping today but now we’re here mourning another loss in this city, another loss,” Rev. Brown said.
“We’ve been trying to find solutions and remedies in anything that you can name for years now, but it seems like it’s intensified,” he continued.
Police are looking at cameras on several corners in the neighborhood hoping to get a glimpse of the person responsible for taking a life and injuring another.
The shooting happened right next to a park.
“A baby could’ve got killed. A woman could’ve got killed -- and by the way we have more women that have been shot now than I could even begin to imagine," Rev. Brownd said. "I’ve been doing this thing for 20 years and it just keeps getting scarier and scarier every day."
This was the 11th homicide of 2022 in Hartford.
