Police Investigating Third BB Gun Shooting in Bristol

The victim was standing outside, smoking a cigarette.

Bristol police are investigating the third BB gun shooting this year.

A 42-year-old man was smoking a cigarette outside his home at Huntington Woods Condominiums, at 200 Blakeslee St., on Monday night when another man approached him and shot at him several times, police said.

Officers responded to the condos at 8:52 p.m. to investigate a shooting and the victim told police he had been standing outside his home when the man pulled a gun and shot at him.

The victim, who sustained several wounds to his head and upper torso, ran back into his home and sought medical help.

The wounds did not penetrate the skin and were most likely from a BB gun, according to police. Officers checked the area, but did not find the shooter.

The shooter was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

This is the third BB gun shooting in Bristol since the end of January.

On Jan. 30, two veterans were shot while waiting for a cab in front of the Disabled American Veterans Club on Riverside Avenue, according to police. A 66-year-old man was hit in the face and the other man was grazed.

The second shooting was at 8 p.m. on Feb. 2 when a 58-year-old man who was walking near 220 Blakeslee St. was hit in the face with a BB, police said. A person holding a BB gun then confronted the victim and fired again before running away.
