There is a police presence at the high school in Granby on Friday.
School officials said a high school student made an alarming statement on Thursday evening and school administrators and the Granby police department immediately addressed the situation with the student and family.
Police determined that there was and still is no viable threat, school officials said.
Then, on Friday morning, word of the incident, rumors, and misinformation spread through social media and families and students became concerned that the schools were under threat.

“Although the student is not in school today, we have increased police presence at the high school as an extra precaution. We are grateful to those who reached out to our administrators directly and through the Stop It app to inform us of their concerns,” the statement from school officials said.
