20-Year-Old Man in Critical Condition After Shooting in New Haven

A 20-year-old man is in critical condition after a shooting in New Haven on Tuesday night.

Officers were called to Spring Street and Hurlburt Street around 6:53 p.m. after getting a report of gunshots in the area.

Shortly after, New Haven police said they were notified about a walk-in gunshot victim that had arrived by private car to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

According to police, the man who was shot is a 20-year-old from East Haven. He was listed in critical condition.

Investigators located and secured a crime scene. The Bureau of Identification and Major Crimes Unit also responded.

The shooting remains under investigation.
