Police are searching for the man who is accused of hitting a Torrington police officer with his car on Wednesday night while the officer was trying to serve warrants.
Police said there are narcotics and failure to appear warrants for Kyle Treadway, 23, and the officer was trying to apprehend him in the driveway of 472 East Main St. around 8 p.m. on Wednesday when Treadway sped away and hit an officer with the front bumper of the vehicle.
The officer was struck in the legs and sustained minor injuries.
Treadway is driving a blue 1997 Volkswagen Golf with Connecticut plate, 264 XUE, according to police.
