Police Continue Searching for Suspect After Deadly Shooting in Norwich

Police are continuing to search for a suspect after a deadly shooting in Norwich on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to Lake Street in Norwich around 4:30 p.m. after getting a report of a shooting.

After investigating, police said 39-year-old Anthony Williams of Norwich was shot on Lake Street and was then transported to William Backus Hospital, where he later died.

The incident appears to be a targeted attack, authorities said. They are continuing to search for the suspect.

According to an emergency alert call that went out to area residents, the suspect was last seen in the area of Club House Road in Lisbon around 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. He is described as male, 5-foot-8 and 145 pounds, and was wearing a red shirt.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
