West Haven police ave arrested a 29-year-old man and seized assault weapons after responding to a report of a man choking his girlfriend on Thursday morning.
When police responded to Ryan Patton’s apartment around 11:30 p.m., an officer saw what police describe as a narcotic powder substance on a table in the apartment and called the Street Crime Unit, police said.
Police said investigators found illegal prescription pills, $100 worth of cocaine, about $3,000 worth of marijuana, $800 in cash, two assault rifles, a shotgun, and an instructions on growing marijuana from the apartment.
Patton, 29, was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, strangulation in the second degree, carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal possession of an assault rifle.
He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
