Hartford police confiscated several guns and a stash of drugs during a raid on Maple Avenue on Thursday morning, and investigators said seven kids were home at the apartment when they arrived to search it.
Police arrested Joxell Mendez, 25, after investigators found three guns, live ammunition, crack cocaine, marijuana and a large amount of cash.
Mendez is facing a string of charges, including possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell in a school zone, possession of a stolen firearm, operating a drug factory and seven counts of risk of injury to a minor.
Mendez, a convicted felon with 13 previous arrests in Hartford, was held on $450,000 bond.
Police have notified the Department of Children and Families.
