One person was shot during a drug transaction in West Hartford over the weekend and police said they seized drugs and weapons from the home on New Britain Avenue and arrested an 18-year-old Newington man and a juvenile in connection with the case.
West Hartford police said UConn Police in Farmington reported around 6 p.m. Saturday that a gunshot victim was in the UConn emergency room.
Investigators learned the victim had gone to Cornerstone Drive, near Brookmoor Road, in West Hartford, to sell drugs to someone he knew and was shot, according to police.
Police served warrants at a home on New Britain Avenue in West Hartford on Sunday and said they have arrested 18-year-old Shawn Moura, of Newington. He was charged with robbery in the first degree and conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree and held on a $75,000 bond and is due in court this morning.
One male juvenile was also arrested at the home on New Britain Avenue in connection to this case and charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree and illegal discharge of a firearm, according to police. His bond was set at $250,000 and he was brought to juvenile detention in Hartford.
Police said they seized narcotics and weapons from the home on New Britain Avenue.
This investigation is still ongoing.
The shooting victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and he is recovering in the hospital, according to police.
