A dump truck hit three cars at State and Skiff streets in North Haven and injuries are reported, according to police.
The people who first contacted police about the crash said the truck lost its brakes and went through the intersection, according to a news release from police.
Officers closed the intersection for about an hour during the investigation, but it has since reopened.
The people who were injured were transported to area hospitals and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The state police truck squad has responded and is investigating.
