Storm Knocks Out Power to Over 100,000 Across Connecticut

A powerful nor'easter that hit Connecticut knocked out power for over 100,000 houses and businesses across the state.

Eversource crews reported that they've restored power to around 134,000 customers throughout the storm, though not all the outages happened at once.

As of Sunday morning numbers were hovering around 13,000 a significant improvement as crews worked to clear away downed trees, wires and utility poles all across the state.

The power companies have been hard at work. Late Friday Eversource reported 62,000 power outages, which is 3 percent of the customer base.

United Illuminating reported 2,600 power outages, and Norwich Public Utilities reported around 750 power outages.

Power issues prompted Montville Public Schools to close early Friday.
