Prisoner Who Escaped From Holding Cell Found

State Police have found a female prisoner who escaped from a holding cell at New London Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Michelle Conklin-Chadwick, 28, somehow got out of her cell around 2:35 p.m. by "manipulating a portion of the metal cage" and walked out of the courthouse in leg shackles, according to State Police. They have since located her, police said around 7:30 p.m.

She was being held on drug charges at the time of the escape. She is also one of three people accused of stealing purses and money from John Roman Catholic Church in Old Saybrook.
