Casinos Double Down on “Boredwalk”

Watch out Atlantic City! Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods are working together to get business from New Yorkers and New Jersey gamblers.

They are putting aside their competitive edge to show you why Connecticut’s a better spot for a gambling vacation than the “Boredwalk” and the “Jersey Snore.”

The two casinos, located six miles apart, placed ads on eight billboards in New York City, Long Island and Northern New Jersey, the Wall Street Journal reports. Web ads are also in the works.

The billboards state: "Way Beyond the Boredwalk"; "Escape the Jersey Snore" and "Two Worlds Beat One City."

And the collaboration a pretty big deal for the old enemies and current competitors.

"This is quite historic," Michael Speller, president of Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises, which owns Foxwoods, told the Journal. "We can drive more business together than we can individually."

The idea is that, together Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, offer a better bet than Atlantic City.
