Gusty Winds, Periods of Heavy Rain Expected Sunday

NBC Connecticut First Alert Meteorologists are tracking a cold front with some of the moisture left over from what was Tropical Storm Olga that came ashore along the Gulf of Mexico.

While the main remnants of Olga will head to our west, the combination of tropical moisture, a cold front and high pressure to our east will mean gusty winds and periods of heavy rain on Sunday.

The bulk of the heaviest rain will fall between noon and 6 p.m.

Rain will taper quickly during Sunday evening. A 1 to 2 inch soaking rain is expected statewide.

Fair weather will return for Monday.
