Rain Makes for Messy Commute

Wires are down and an on-ramp is flooded.

Heavy rain is causing problems for the morning commute on Wednesday.

In Enfield, the on-ramp to Interstate 91 north is closed at exit 49 because of flooding.

Some crashes have also been reported elsewhere in the state.

Wires are down on Route 75 in Windsor Locks and the road is closed just north of Spring Street and south of North Street. Power is out for more than 400 customers, according to the Connecticut Light & Power outage list. One of those customers is Bradley Airport, which is operating on a backup generator.

A driver struck a pole and fled, officials said.

Leave extra time to get to your destination.

Rain will taper off midday and the forecast for Thanksgiving is sun, with a high temperature of 46 to 52.
