Restaurants Help HDI Victims, 50 Cents at a Time

During the month of August, you can help the victims of the Hartford Distributors tragedy by having a beer. 

More than a dozen restaurants across the state are donating 50 cents from ever draft beer sold to the HDI Memorial Fund.

“It happened close by and that made it more important not only for us, but the entire restaurant community to get involved,” Steve Abrams, of Max Downtown, said.

Many of the restaurants involved have a close business relationship with HDI and said this is the least they can do to help their friends in need. 

“In all honesty, and it probably sounds kind of silly, but it makes me want to buy more beer.  It’s obviously a terrible thing that happened and it’s for a good cause,” Steve Kaplan, of Queens, New York, said.
