Roads Closed as Nor'easter Moves Through Connecticut

A Nor’easter is bringing rain and wind to Connecticut and some roads are closed.

Route 53 in Danbury has been closed for hours at Elmwood Road because water is over the road.

Route 6 in Farmington is closed and is expected to be closed for several hours after a car took down a utility pole on Tuesday afternoon.

Route 431 in East Haddam is closed between Route 82 and Gillette Castle State Park because of crash

There are some road closures in Guilford.

In Norwalk, there are some road closures as well.

Route 222 in Harwinton was closed by Hayden Road because a tree and wires were down, according to CT Travel Smart. That road is no longer listed as closed.

There are also some travel delays.

Interstate 84 East is congested between exits 49 and 56 in East Hartford because of a jackknifed truck between exits 55 and 56. The right and center lanes are closed.

Interstate 691 East in Meriden was congested between exits 7 and 8. The right and center lanes were closed.

There were delays on Interstate 95 North in Guilford. The highway was congested between exits 56 and 57, according to CT Travel Smart.
