A masked gunman robbed a New Haven package store on Monday, taking money and lottery scratch-off tickets, according to a police report said.
Viral Patel, the owner of Hollywood Package Store on Grand Avenue, told police a masked man carrying a handgun entered the store around 6 p.m. on Monday and demanded that Patel hand over money. Patel said the man then fled toward State Street in a black car.
Police are investigating several leads and are trying to determine if the perpetrator of this robbery is also responsible for a number of similar robberies in New Haven.
