Three of the swimming areas that the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection runs are closed after the parking lots reached capacity on Tuesday.

The three swimming areas that closed due to capacity are Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme, Millers Pond State Park in Haddam and Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

The state has limited the amount of parking at state beaches and parks to allow for social distancing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
