One person was taken to the hospital after a car and tractor-trailer collided head-on along Route 34 in Newtown at 4:45 a.m. and traffic was at a standstill for hours.
Belio Fernandez, of Newtown, said he was halfway through his commute when he was forced to stop and sat in traffic for three hours.
The crash happened near Great Quarter Road.
Emergency crews pulled the driver from the car and took the person to the hospital. The person injured was conscious and talking, according to people at the scene.
Officials said the road was shut down for so long because the tractor-trailer involved was carrying fuel. Some leaked and it had to be cleaned.
Traffic was at a standstill for around two miles.
