Route 44 in Avon was closed between Darling Drive and Old Farms Road Wednesday afternoon because of a natural gas leak, according to CT Travel Smart.
Officials from CNG said it appears that a construction crew working hit a gas service line and the company is making repairs after stopping the flow of gas.
