Durham Road (Route 77) in Guilford is closed due to emergency repair work, according to police.
Police said the road is closed between Prospect Hill Road and Hubbard Road, just north of the I-95 exit 58 ramps.
The power company said the work will last much of the day.
Drivers can use alternate routes on Long Hill Road or Little Meadow Road.
The repair work may also cause intermittent power outages.
