Teen Dead After Police Chase Ends in Crash on Route 8 in Bridgeport

An 18-year-old Bridgeport man is dead after a police chase ended in a serious rollover crash on Route 8 in Bridgeport Thursday, according to Bridgeport police.

Bridgeport city officials said officers were pursuing suspects involved in an armed robbery on McKinley Avenue when the suspect’s vehicle crashed on Route 8 northbound near the Route 25 split.

There were four people in the car between the ages of 15 and 18, police said. An 18-year-old was killed when he was thrown from the vehicle. State police identified him as 18-year-old Corbin Cooper, of Bridgeport.

Another teen was seriously hurt. Two others were injured but are expected to recover.

Police said the driver of the vehicle was 15.
