Part of Foxon Road, Route 80, in North Branford was closed this morning after a driver lost control of a sedan and slammed into a pole early this morning, but has since reopened.
The crash happened at Route 80 and Totoket Road, and knocked down the utility pole and some power lines, which were hanging across this the road. Crews were able to fix the problem as of 8 a.m.
No serious injuries are reported.
Mike Smurkowski, of North Branford, said he heard the crash around 3 a.m.
"When I came here, I saw a car parked this way and it looks like he cut the pole right in half," Smurkowski said.
Joe Consiglio delivers newspapers in the morning and had to come up with a secondary plan for his route because of the road closure.
"This is the only obstacle I've run into so far. I had to give them to the officer and he'll walk them down," he said.
